1 Chapter at a Time

What a man won't do for his significant other. Today my only task was while the little woman was away in the cities. I was to drop off her work vehicle at the mechanic shop in town. Which I might add is approx. 1 1/2 miles away. No big deal, it would be a nice little stroll back home. So, when I awoke this morning it was raining off and on most of the morning. I waited for a break in the action, so my trusting canine companion & I could make the walk back home & stay dry. Once it stopped raining we bolted to the car & we were off. With in minutes we were at the shop, parking the car & started our walk home. It was a balmy +48 degrees at the time with slight wind gusts of about 10 to 15 miles per hour. I left the warmth & safety of my home wearing a plaid shirt (no jacket). Within minutes of parking at the shop and leaving the car, it started to sprinkle. We sped up our pace a tad bit. Soon it began to drizzle a tiny bit more.....does the word "Hypothermia" come to mind at this point. We had approx. 15 more minutes to walk back to the warmth of our home. It was raining now, hard. My faithful canine companion would periodically turn her head  & stare at me with the "I'm going to kill you" look in her eye's. We made it home, we were both dripping, shaking & wet. My faithful canine companion received a rawhide bone for her endeavors. I in return, got into warm jammies and my robe. Stay Tuned for the next adventure....Peace!
